And A Man In Love With Death…On a sunny afternoon a few weeks ago, walking with Satish Modi the Indian Billionaire, Philanthropist and Author in the Central Park of Manhattan – that for many is the center of the universe – we ventured into the heart of the question that has confounded humankind since the beginning of time – the meaning of life and death.Normally for most matters of life and death I refer to an illustrious citizen of New York City and the modern day philosopher Woody Allen – sample this – “Life is full of misery, loneliness, and suffering – and it’s all over much too soon…. I don’t want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying and… I am not afraid of death… I just don’t want to be there when it happens”.But that day away from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple in the midst of idyllic water bodies, quaint cafes and the large expanse of green that serves as a backyard for the metropolis I was engaged in an extended exchange with the soft-spoken, self-effacing and striking individual – Satish Modi.
Whatever everyone does is concluded with the end which is why people state as happy ending. Death is the happy ending and surely it makes me in love with death because it takes out all my fear and now happiness is my element. Thanks for inspiring me by your book.
I loved this book. I have recently lost my mother and brother, had my work place close down and moved to a new country. Having time to think about life and work and heading into the later years of life I was wondering about where I now fit in this world. This book doesn’t give defined answers but a variety of views of the subject. I found through this book that life is a gift given to us for a short time and that we need to make the most of the time we have in whatever terms life has provided for us. Sharing the stories in the book gave me a perspective of how very lucky I have been, even to share the journey that I had with my brother in his final year. I am sharing this wonderful book with the special people in my life.
We do not have a Hindi version of the book as yet. However, the English version (also available on Amazon) is written in simple, easy to understand language – so you can procure a book and, probably, have it read out to your dad. Would be happy to receive your response after you and your father have read it. Thank you.

An inspiring, thought provoking book that awakens us to value and cherish every moment of our lives!
I recently met Mr Satish Modi and he spoke to me about his book and it seemed so interesting because he has a really great vision of life and knows how to seize every moment of it. He is a positive person, always smiling and peace making. I am so excited to start reading his book because I am sure that I will learn a lot from the author – who inspired me!
My dog woke me up early this morning (it is Sunday, a day for a lie in!) to take her out to the toilet. I took my radio with me and heard Satish being interviewed on radio Scotland and I was moved by his story of him meeting the Japanese Buddhist leader. I then had to listen to the rest of the interview, even after coming back into the house. Thank you for telling your story, Satish, you have given me something to think of, and hopefully change my life.
Its a torch light into mankind’s biggest taboo – and thus a wonderful wake-up call. Reading and applying the book make makes live more lively and intensive. As you know my watch is running backwards, it helps taking time preciously. Thank you Satish for this extremely original book. Kind greetings

Now I accept death without dread, and think, it could happen to me tomorrow. So, now I stop worrying and enjoy every tiny moment of life.
Satish has many thoughts that are closely aligned to mine, and I highly recommend this book to anybody – it’s a real eye opener.
Without hectoring or moralising, Modi invites us to embrace the inevitability of our fate, rather than fear it. His book is a life-affirming read that reveals resonant stories of everyday grief and survival, suggesting a refreshingly open, positive framework for any atheist dealing with death.

This book is a gem for those who simply want more than the mundane seeking of fame and money. It empowers the reader to use their inherent talents and skills, to help heal the world, and gives many aspirational messages. A must read for everyone who seeks spirituality and happiness, by giving joy to others and those who simply want to make the most of the one short life that one is given.
In Love with Death is thought provoking and optimistic. The message I took from this beautifully written book is to appreciate what one has and take nothing for granted – every moment of this life is precious so don’t waste it.
